Soulpepper Extends A RAISIN IN THE SUN Thru 11/20

Albert Schultz, Founding Artistic Director of Soulpepper Theatre Company, today announced that due to popular demand‚ the critically acclaimed production of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun will be extended to November 20, 2010. Five performances have been added: Wednesday November 17 at 8:00pm, Thursday November 18 at 8:00pm, Friday November 19 at 8:00pm and Saturday November 20 at 2:00pm and 8:00pm.

A Raisin in the Sun examines three generations of a black American family and their journey to discover love, dignity, courage, and hope amidst the tribulations of racial intolerance.

Weyni Mengesha directs Awaovieyi Agie, Barbara Barnes-Hopkins, Dion Johnstone, Matthew Kabwe, Abena Malika, Diego Matamoros, Charles Officer, Kofi Payton, Alison Sealy-Smith and Bahia Watson in A Raisin in the Sun.

A Raisin in the Sun has been extended to November 20, 2010 and runs at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, located at 55 Mill Street, Building 49, in the Distillery Historic District. Tickets range from $29.00 - $70.00 (plus HST) and are available by calling the Young Centre box office at 416.866.8666 or by visiting soulpepper.ca. $22 tickets are available for 21-30 year-olds at stageplay.ca. StagePlay is sponsored by TD Bank Financial Group.
