The Merry Wives of Windsor runs July 2-12, 2015 as part of the Toronto Fringe Festival at the Victory Cafe? (581 Markham Street, Toronto ON, just west of Bathurst, south of Bloor).

Toronto's most popular indie Shakespeare company, the award-winning Shakespeare BASH'd, returns to the Victory Cafe? for the fourth year in a row with The Merry Wives of Windsor, a rollicking comedy starring Shakespeare's most popular character, Sir John Falstaff. A smash hit at last year's Fringe with Love's Labour's Lost, Shakespeare BASH'd will bring their clear, text-driven, rousing work to the bar for Toronto audiences to enjoy once again.

This production of The Merry Wives of Windsor will bring real-life couple and Canadian theatre veterans Sean Sullivan and Lynne Griffin together on the Fringe Festival stage. Sean Sullivan (Kat Sandler's Liver, Wayne's World, San Diego Critics Circle Award for outstanding Solo Performance) will play rogue-of-the- court Sir John Falstaff, a buffoonish, cowardly knight bent on seducing Mistress Ford and Mistress Page. Stratford and Shaw Festival alum Lynne Griffin (recently seen in Canadian Stage's Harper Regan) plays Mistress Quickly, a clever barmaid who attempts to meddle in the wooing of wealthy Master Page's daughter. This husband-and-wife actor duo bring to the stage decades of experience on television and film, and in some of Canada's foremost theatres.

This electric show about love, jealousy, revenge, family, and ale brings some of Canada's best-loved talent together with some of Toronto's most exciting emerging artists.
