The Second City's 81st Mainstage Revue hits Toronto on April 6, and the theatre is engaging in its time-honoured tradition of introducing the next generation of comedic talent to the world. In addition to returning cast members Brandon Hackett, Nadine Djoury and Allana Reoch, two new performers are making their Mainstage debut, along with the return of an award-winning alumna.
Sharjil Rasool is an alumnus of The Second City Touring Company and was featured in the JFL42 "New Faces" Showcase in 2016. He co-hosts the comedy podcast That's How I Remember It and can be seen performing improv as a member of the Canadian Comedy Award-winning troupe MANTOWN (Full bio here) Chris Wilson is a Victoria, BC native and one-half of the three-time Canadian Comedy Award-winning sketch duo Peter N' Chris. He has written and contributed sketches to CollegeHumor, CBC's The Irrelevant Show, This Art Works! and Royal Canadian Air Farce. She recently won Best Supporting Actress at the Austin Film Festival for her role in Must Kill Karl and was hailed by Variety magazine as the "breakout of pilot season" after landing the lead in NBC's comedy pilot Ellen More or Less.
