Just in time to help beat the winter blues, Ross Petty Productions is bringing a hysterical and fun filled family musical to Toronto for his 14th Annual Fractured Fairy Tale. It's Monty Python meets Broadway when ROBIN HOOD: The EnvironMENTAL Family Musical hits the stage at the Elgin Theatre November 26th, 2009.
With an all star cast comprised of Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila, We Will Rock You's Yvan Pednneault, Dan Chameroy, Jessica Holmes, Jeff Irving and Ross Petty himself, this show looks like it will be a real crowd pleaser.
In this new twist on the popular fairy tale, Robin Hood (played by Jeff Irving) must win over Maid Marion while eluding the Sheriff of Nottingham, who in this production is the CEO of Nottingham Lumber. Ever the villian, the Sheriff is getting ready to raze Sherwood Forest in order to keep his company number one it its field...maker of toothpicks, bathroom tissue and catapults!
Jeff Irving broke hearts all over Ontario as Rolf in Mirvish's Production of The Sound of Music, and is sure to continue to woo adoring female fans as the hero in the green tights. Eva Avila, fresh off her Canadian Idol win and concert dates opening for superstar Beyonce will play Robin Hood's love interest, Maid Marion.
Jessica Holmes (famous for her impressions of Celine Dion and Liza Minnelli) will be the Good Fairy of Sherwood Forest, while We Will Rock You's Yvan Pedneault will bring a rock-edge to the role of Merry Man Alain de Champagne. Dan Chameroy will play Plumbum von Botox, an RN from Nottingham Nursing College who serves as Maid Marion's guardian.
Rounding out the cast is producer Ross Petty, who will play the immaculately coiffed, yet very evil, Sheriff of Nottingham.
