YPT presents the national debut of Quest Theatre's SNOW ANGEL.

Celebrate the magic of winter and the ripple effect of kindness in one little girl's neighbourhood with Quest Theatre's production of Snow Angel.

Snow Angel is the first production by this dynamic Calgary company to be seen in Toronto. After two and a half years in development, with assistance from Young People's Theatre, this delightful play about winter for young audiences will be presented on the YPT Mainstage from February 10 to 19, 2015, with a special Family Day performance on February 16.

Snow Angel is a wordless piece that cleverly uses movement, mask and music to tell the story of a brother and his younger sister who, together, discover a winter wonderland in a new snowfall. Their only obstacle is the bird-loving old man who lives next door and wants to keep them off his property. When the sister starts to form an unlikely friendship with the old man, the frustrated brother indulges in a careless act that upsets the old man. In order to set things right, the brother must make a great personal sacrifice.

Snow Angel is an original play created by Quest Theatre's Artistic Director Nikki Loach, with artistic contributions by the Old Trout puppet master, Peter Balkwill and development support from Young People's Theatre. It features an accomplished design team featuring Set and Costume designer, Loïc Lacroix Hoy and Juno nominated, 40-year veteran of the 'Roots' music scene, Tim Williams who provided Original Composition. Other credits include Sound Coordination by Jonathon Lewis, Masks by Kate Braidwood of Wonderheads, Lighting Design by Terry Middleton, and Puppet Design and Construction by Juanita Dawn.
