Puppetmongers Theatre proudly presents Foolish Tales for Foolish Times In partnership with Solar Stage Children's Theatre During March Break 2018

For family audiences of school age, especially 4-10 year-olds

March 14-17, 2018, at 10.30 a.m. daily

Wychwood Theatre - 601 Christie Street, Unit 176

Created and performed by Ann Powell and David Powell, Directed by Sue Miner

Four classic tales of misadventure are combined in Foolish Tales for Foolish Times to take the audience on a journey of venerable folk wisdom, in a celebration of our shared humanity. Using yesterday's solutions to solve today's problems, letting a small mistake become an insurmountable mess, just not thinking things through - these tales have it all! This show is guaranteed to please the young and young-at-heart alike.

Told in Puppetmongers' trademark witty fashion, each of the four stories is imaginatively performed with a different style of puppetry, from human-sized to hand puppet, table-top to kitchenware, and the play is presented in a deceptively simple, low tech style that belies the artistry of the Puppetmongers.

At the forefront of puppetry arts in Canada, the Puppetmongers' brother and sister team of Ann and David Powell have won numerous awards and toured extensively in North America, Europe and the Middle East, earning a reputation as leaders and innovators in the field of puppetry. Puppetmongers Theatre has been bewitching audiences since 1974with their exceptional and inventive creations, both for young audiences and adults.

Sue Miner has enjoyed working with Puppetmongers for the past 19 years, having been a fan for many years before that, With them she has directed Bed & Breakfast, Foolish Tales for Foolish Times and Cinderella in Muddy York. Sue works frequently as a freelance director and teacher and is the co-artistic director of Pea Green Theatre Group.
