Amaluna, the latest show by world-renowned Canadian company Cirque du Soleil, showcases a unique combination of the theatre world with the Cirque family by bringing in director Diane Paulus of the American Reperatory Theatre. The show invites the audience to a mysterious island that is guided by the cycles of the moon and governed by Goddesses. Ms. Paulus recently directed the much discussed revival of The Gershwins Porgy and Bess, as well as Prometheus Bound and many other Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.
When it was announced that Ms. Paulus would be taking the reigns of this latest Cirque offering, the theatre community was buzzing with excitement at seeing what she would do with the talented Cirque team. Canadian media got a special sneak peek at the upcoming show this past week under the yellow top at Port Lands in Toronto, and BWW is thrilled to be able to bring its readers a few photos of the upcoming show.
