Producers Michael Rubinoff and Daryl Roth announced today that celebrated Dora, Genie and Gemini award-winning Canadian actress Patricia Hamilton (Rachel Lynde in Anne of Green Gables films and "Road to Avonlea" television series) joins the upcoming cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's Love, Loss, and What I Wore at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre. Hamilton rounds out the October (October 7-30) cast, joining previously announced cast members trey anthony ('da Kink in my Hair), operatic comedienne Mary Lou Fallis (Primadonna), "Degrassi" alum Stacey Farber (CBC-TV's "18 to Life") and Gemini award-winning Leah Pinsent (CBC-TV's "Made in Canada," Love Letters).
Love, Loss, and What I Wore is an intimate collection of stories that covers some of life's most poignant moments and their corresponding wardrobe. This evening of vignettes, based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman as well as personal reminiscences from the Ephrons and their friends, features a rotating cast of five who share tales to which every woman - and their male friends and mates - can relate.
Love, Loss, and What I Wore opened Off-Broadway at The Westside Theatre on October 1, 2009 where it continues to play to sold-out houses with rotating monthly casts. It was honoured with a 2010 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. Members of the New York rotating cast have included Tyne Daly, Fran Drescher, Jane Lynch, Rosie O'Donnell, Rhea Perlman, Brook Shields, and many more. A Los Angeles company opened at the Geffen Playhouse on May 13, 2010 and continues its extension.
The Toronto production opened on July 21, 2010, winning both popular and critical acclaim and has been extended twice to date. Members of the Toronto rotating cast have included Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Margot Kidder, Andrea Martin, Sheila McCarthy, Mary Walsh, and many more.
