lemonTree creations presents the touring production of MSM [men seeking men], a dance theatre piece inspired by transcripts of online conversations between men seeking other men. This all-queer cast explores hook-up culture, fetishism, racism, homophobia and straight-up sex.

A live DJ spins, creating a world of electronic beats where music is the omnipotent power and bodies, sweat and words mix to create an underground party where anything goes and (almost) nothing is taboo.

Presented to critical acclaim in June 2013 at Toronto Fringe Festival, the piece premiered at the World Pride Festivities in Toronto in June 2014 and was nominated for 6 Broadway World Toronto Awards including Best Independent Theatre Production.

This is a ONE NIGHT ONLY presentation before lemonTree heads on tour to the West Coast as part of the Queer Arts Festival in Vancouver (June 20/21) and OUTstages in Victoria (June 23).

MSM originally opened during the 2013 Fringe Festival. The critical response was enthusiastic and helped make the show one of the top grossers for Fringe's largest venue.

The Toronto Star's Michael Crabb described MSM's physicality as "rough, tender, and everything in between" and noted performances of "convincing intensity", while NOW's Jon Kaplan praised the blend of text and dance, "the movement is sometimes more telling - and often hotter- than the words."

lemonTree creations brings rarely told stories to the stage by supporting artists in the development of new works through our residency program and our productions.

Artistic Producers Indrit Kasapi (Albanian-Canadian) and Cole Alvis (Métis) collaborate with Artistic Associates Jonathan Seinen and Ryan G. Hinds along with artist in residence Donna-Michelle St. Bernard.

We maintain a rehearsal studio in downtown Tkarón:to and lemonTree pays our respects to the original caretakers of these lands and waterways including the Mississauguas of New Credit First Nation, the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Wendat peoples.
