Dancap Productions Inc. will present the Canadian premiere of Jersey Boys at the Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street) for a limited engagement starting late Summer 2008.
"We're so pleased to be bringing this fantastic Broadway production to the Toronto Centre for the Arts," said Aubrey Dan, president of Dancap Productions. "In particular, I want to thank Mayor Miller, Councillor Mike Feldman, and the city councillors and members of the NYPACC Board who supported this initiative to rejuvenate the Main Stage of the Toronto Centre for the Arts. We hope that Jersey Boys will help to revitalize the surrounding business community and entice people to come and visit our great city."
Jersey Boys, as described in press materials, "follows the rags-to-riches tale of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, four blue-collar kids who worked their way from the streets of Newark to the heights of stardom, all before they were 30. The show, which features hits such as "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," and "Oh, What a Night," opened to rave reviews on November 6, 2005 and won four 2006 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The original Broadway cast recording on Rhino Records won the Grammy Award for Best Show Recording and remains one of the best-selling show CDs in the US.Videos
