This summer, Broadway¹s hottest musical made Canadian premiere electrifying audiences at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, extending twice and garnering extraordinary critical acclaim. Today, Dancap Productions Inc. and Jersey Boys are pleased to announce that the show will remain in Toronto! The show will extend through February 1, 2009 with a new Canadian cast, just in time for the holidays.

"After our first eight weeks of performances, it has become ever so clear that Jersey Boys and the great city of Toronto seem meant for each other," says Michael David, Producer of Jersey Boys. "We are most excited to join with Aubrey Dan and Dancap to perpetuate that relationship hopefully for a very long time to come."

"I'm thrilled to see that Jersey Boys is a big hit in Toronto," says Director Des McAnuff, "I'm proud of the entire company and pleased for Aubrey Dan and everyone at Dancap. As the new Artistic Director of the Stratford Festival, I've truly been enjoying getting reacquainted with Canadian theatre artists and meeting new ones. We will populate Jersey Boys with great Canadian talent on stage and off. This makes six productions of Jersey Boys currently running; I look forward to the Toronto production being the strongest of them all."

In 2006, Jersey Boys won four Tony Awards® including Best Musical and Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album. In addition to Broadway, the show has been heralded by critics and embraced by nearly sold out audiences during extended runs in Chicago, Las Vegas, London and Toronto.

Since its inception in 2007, Dancap Productions' mandate has included presenting and producing the best of Broadway-style theatre. The company is now making its producing mandate a reality. "Toronto audiences are in love with the music and the real-life story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons," says Aubrey Dan, President of Dancap Productions. "We're seeing enthusiastic audiences and standing ovations at every performance; in fact some customers have seen the show numerous times, coming back with their friends and family. Toronto is eager for more Jersey Boys! Creating this Canadian company now is the right decision both culturally and economically for Dancap and for the city of Toronto."

Jersey Boys is the story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It tells the tale of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.

Directed by two-time Tony Award® winner and Toronto native Des McAnuff,Jersey Boys is written by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo, another Toronto native.

The Jersey Boys design and production team comprises Klara Zieglerova (Scenic Design), Jess Goldstein (Costume Design), Howell Binkley (winner of the 2006 Tony Award® for his Lighting Design of Jersey Boys), Steve Canyon Kennedy (Sound Design), Michael Clark (Projections Design), Charles LaPointe (Wig and Hair Design), Steve Orich (Orchestrations) and Ron Melrose (Music Direction, Vocal Arrangements & Incidental Music).
