Two old friends find themselves trapped at an annual holiday party in this fast-paced hour that CBC described as a "Mobius strip of a play that's sure to fill your inner geek with glee." Like a lost episode of the Twilight Zone, Inescapable plays with our perception of time and reality, and how both get twisted when lies fester in the hearts of our closest relationships.
Written by and featuring Martin Dockery (2017's play Moonlight After Midnight and solo show Delirium), Inescapable also stars Jon Paterson, who's been consistently touring the fringe since the mid-90's. (Surely longer than anyone else, at this point, no?) Inescapable is directed by Vanessa Quesnelle (2017's Moonlight After Midnight), and is her fifth collaboration with Dockery, who also happens to be her husband.
In a somewhat different collaboration, Dockery & Quesnelle have also produced a very tiny baby girl - born 8 days ago, as of this writing. From their home in Brooklyn, they'll bring their baby, who will be 6 weeks old at the time, to the Toronto Fringe, and then to four other fringes afterward. Touring the fringe as a couple who met on the fringe, and now as a true fringe family with a tiny new human will - at the very least - make for some great family lore - and a good personal interest article! We're as curious as everyone else to see what this will be like with a baby in tow!
