Toronto's Hart House Theatre kicks-off its new season on Friday, September 14 with the Tony Award-winning musical, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.

"The show, written by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and inspired by the comedies of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus is a laugh filled riot from beginning to end.  The story tells the story of the likable slave Pseudolus and his hilarious quest for freedom.  The combination of hilarious Musical Theatre conventions, zany vaudevillian nonsense, plot twists, turns and roundabouts make Forum one of the most loved Broadway hits of all-time.  Memorable musical numbers include: 'Comedy Tonight,' 'Lovely,' and 'Everybody Ought to Have a Maid,'" state press materials.

Directed by Graham Maxwell, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum plays the following schedule:

September 14 - 29, 2007
3 week run (11 performances)
Week 1: Friday & Saturday at 8PM
Week 2: Wednesday to Saturday at 8PM
