Necessary Angel's Hamlet gets its World Premiere at Harbourfront Centre's World Stage, and tonight, November 17 and tomorrow, November 18 only, preview performance tickets are available for only $15 before the official opening on November 19th, 2009.

Following the critical success of The Walworth Farce, this will be the second production of the World Stage 2009-2010 Season. This production of Hamlet is touted as having an "agile and savage revision" and combines the aesthetic of European theatre with the poetry of the British stage. Promising to be a unique, immediate and violent 110-minute live theatre experiment seething with amorality, where nothing is set and every performance is different.

Hamlet is of course a well known and classic piece of theatre, but this production is set to turn everything upside down and give audiences a new and fresh take on the classic Bard tale. The play received standing ovations during its sold-out workshop performances in November 2008.

This production features Benedict Campbell, Laura de Carteret, Mac Fyfe, Steven McCarthy, Christopher Morris, Tara Nicodemo, Robert Persichini and Eric Peterson, with Gord Rand in the title role. It is being directed by Graham McLaren, Artistic Director of Scotland's Theatre Babel and Dora Award Winning Producer of Medea which played the World Stage in 2002.
