Theatre 20, Canada's only artist-led and story-driven musical theatre company, is pleased to announce the cast of its inaugural production - Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare.

This morbidly entertaining musical by Winnipeg playwright/composer Joseph Aragon revisits the rise and fall of two Irish serial killers in 19th century Scotland who discover a case for business in selling their victims to anatomy schools. Bloodless previews Oct. 9-10 (press opening Oct. 11), opens Oct. 12 and runs until Oct. 28 at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre.

Starring Theatre 20 Founding Artist Evan Buliung (Mirvish Productions' Lord of the Rings, Statford's Grapes of Wrath, CanStage's Art) as WilLiam Burke and Eddie Glen (Stratford Festival, West End's Miss Saigon and Joseph...) as William Hare, with Jan Alexandra Smith (Neptune Theatre's Lost- A Memoir) as Margaret Hare, Theatre 20 Founding Artist Trish Lindström (Stratford's The Tempest and Cabaret) as Helen McDougal, Theatre 20 Founding Artist David Keeley (Broadway's Mama Mia!, Mirvish's Billy Elliot) as Dr. Robert Knox, Jeff Irving (Mirvish's The Sound of Music, Shaw's My Fair Lady) as Thomas Wharton Jones, Donnie Macphee (Stratford's Oliver! and South Pacific, Ross Petty's Aladdin, Peter Pan) as William Fergusson, Theatre 20 Founding Artist Carly Street (Broadway's Brief Encounter and Clybourne Park) as Janet Brown, Kaylee Harwood (Broadway's Jesus Christ Superstar, Stratford's Camelot) as Mary Peterson, Sweeney Macarthur as Sir William Rae, Theatre 20 Emerging Artist Ensemble member Laura Jean Elligsen as Abigail Simpson and Jono Logan, Glen Mills (also both Theatre 20 Emerging Artist members) and Amir Haidar completing the ensemble. Bloodless audiences can enjoy this fiercely talented cast deliver an unforgettable performance in a bold new musical critics declare is "smart, dark and daring" (Winnipeg Free Press).

The Bloodless creative team includes Theatre 20 Artistic Director Adam Brazier (CanStage's The Rocky Horror Show, Mirvish's Mama Mia!, Broadway's Into the Woods), Musical Director Jason Jestadt, Creative Consultant Colm Wilkinson (West End and Broadway's Les Miserables, Livent's Phantom of the Opera), Sound Designer Emily Porter, Lighting Designer Stephen Ross, Set Designer Beth Kates, Costume Designer Melanie McNeill, Production Consultant Paul Shaw, Stage Manager Carolyn Mykytyshyn, Assistant Stage Manager Wilson Wong and movement by Associate Director Linda Garneau.

Bloodless tickets are available now for purchase through TicketKing online at Mirvish.com, by phone at 416-872-1212 or in person at any Mirvish Theatre Box Office. Tickets range in price from $49-$69. Special ticket prices are offered to students at $29 and limited Rush tickets will be released daily at $20. Groups of 10 or more receive a 20 percent discount.

Theatre 20 is an artist led, story-driven company with a focus on developing and presenting original Canadian musicals as well as re-imagining existing repertoire from both the national and international canons. It is a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization that has been formed not only to create musical works for the stage but also to play an active and positive role within the community. It aims to nurture the talent of writers and composers and foster the development of young artists through mentorship and education programs.
