Civic Theatres Toronto today announced the line-up for Best of the Fringe - the best from the recent 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival.
The Best of the Fringe affords "the Best" a remount at the Studio Theatre, Toronto Centre for the Arts, provides the artists the opportunity to showcase their work to an uptown audience, and give patrons -- who may have missed their initial Fringe run -- a second chance to see the show. Tickets for Best of the Fringe go on sale to the public on Tuesday, July 24, 10AM. For a complete performance schedule, visit www.tocentre.com.

Two daughters of internet celebrities struggle with the legacy left for them, running both towards - and away from - their own turn in the spotlight. From the writer of indie hits "Cloud" and "Homewrecker" and co-creator of 2012 Toronto Fringe New Play Contest winner "Help Yourself", along with the creator of fringe hits "ONEymoon" and "Chaotica" comes a darkly comic play about the gold rush for internet fame and making the best out of a bad situation.

Featuring Colin Mochrie and Linda Kash
Company: The Howland Company
Created by the company
The Howland Company in association with Bad Dog Comedy Theatre presents a completely improvised play based on the structure of traditional farces we love like "The Norman Conquests" and "Noises Off". Created by Liz Johnston and Ruth Goodwin.
Sex T-Rex: D&D Live - Sunday, August 19, 9PM
Company: Sex T-Rex
Created by the company
Join a party of award-winning comedians in this improvised love letter to the world's most popular role-playing game. Set in a fantasy Toronto, our heroes will have to tackle dangers like the Tomb of Eton or perhaps even a fire-spitting Drake! You may even be called upon to take up the twenty sided Die of Power and roll to determine the resounding successes (or critical failures) of our intrepid adventurers. D&D Live is unscripted adventure comedy at its finest, and a delight for both the uninitiated and epic-level nerds!
Bikeface - Saturday, August 18, 9PM
Company: Trailblazing Ladies
By Natalie Frijia
During the Victorian era bicycle craze, doctors warned women riders they would undoubtedly cultivate "bicycle faces": becoming over-exerted, wild-eyed, un-sexed vulgarities, when faced with nothing before them but the wide, open road. A hundred years later, the story of BikeFace takes off. It's a one-woman whirlwind retracing a real-life bicycle adventure across Canada, challenging the outdated gender stereotype. Filled with strange-but-true tales of Wild West proprietors, haunted graveyards, and wanderers with secrets only fit for strangers.
First Dates - Sunday, August 19, 7PM
Company: Clutch Performance Theatre Co.
By Wes Berger. Songs by Aaron Berger
A journey through the wondrous world of the meet up, the make out, the awkward, and the pre-destined. Different couples. Different generations. Different results. Truthful. Touching. Moving. Stories about the broken-hearted many, the open-hearted few, and our search for connection in these fragile times.

Created by the company
A dark comedy with four young women and their perfect statures. What happens when obsessions steer them away from reality and create a monster from within?
