AUBREY DAN, President, Dancap Productions Inc., today announced Dancap's 2011 Subscription Series featuring the Canadian premiere of five new musicals direct from Broadway, and the return of The Lincoln Center Theater production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC.

In addition, Dancap's 2011 Subscription Series includes: 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, based on the hit film with music and lyrics by the incomparable Dolly Parton; NEXT TO NORMAL, winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for drama and three 2009 Tony Awards® and starring Best Actress winner Alice Ripley; COME FLY AWAY, Twyla Tharp's electrifying celebration of the music of Frank Sinatra;
THE ADDAMS FAMILY, the creepy, kooky musical; and MEMPHIS, winner of the most awards in the 2009-2010 Broadway season including the 2010 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Combined, the Dancap 2011 Subscription Series consists of 14 Tony Awards, 12 Drama Desk Awards, 10 Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Pulitzer Prizes.

"At Dancap we are committed to presenting the very best in Broadway musical theatre and providing a captivating theatrical experience for Toronto audiences," said Aubrey Dan. "For 2011, we have strived to find a great mix of productions that showcase the very best of Broadway from traditional musicals to those on the leading edge. We are also very proud to present SOUTH PACIFIC at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, and to continue our summer residency at the
Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts."

Due to audience demand, the celebrated Lincoln Center Theater Production of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein's prize-winning musical SOUTH PACIFIC, returns to Toronto, and leads Dancap's subscription series beginning in February 2011. Earning unprecedented raves this past summer from Toronto critics, both Jason Howard as Emile de Becque and Carmen Cusack as Ensign Nellie Forbush return to Toronto for this engagement. Directed by Bartlett Sher, SOUTH PACIFIC will play at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, the former home of Dancap's long-running production of JERSEY BOYS.

9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL marked the Broadway debut of seven-time Grammy® Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician DOLLY PARTON as composer and lyricist, and features the original hit title song along with a new Tony and Grammy nominated score.

A hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is the story of three unlikely friends who conspire to take control of their beastly boss and his company, and learn there's nothing they can't do. Outrageously fun, thought provoking and even a little romantic, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is about teaming up, taking care of business, and getting even.

Winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and three 2009 Tony Awards, NEXT TO NORMAL is an emotional powerhouse of a musical with a thrilling contemporary score about a family trying to take care of themselves and each other. Alice Ripley, who received the 2009 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, will reprise her acclaimed performance in Toronto. In awarding the Prize, the Pulitzer Board called NEXT TO NORMAL, featuring music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, and direction by Michael Greif, "a powerful rock musical that grapples with mental illness in a suburban family and expands the scope of subject matter for musicals."

COME FLY AWAY, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp, follows four couples as they fall in and out of love during a song and dance filled evening at a crowded nightclub. Blending the legendary vocals of Frank Sinatra with a live on stage 14-piece big band and 15 of the world's finest dancers, COME FLY AWAY weaves an unparalleled hit parade of classics, including "Fly Me To The Moon," "My Way," and "That's Life," into a soaring musical fantasy of romance and seduction. By special arrangement with Frank Sinatra Enterprises and The Sinatra Family, COME FLY AWAY features the original recorded masters of Frank Sinatra's voice.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY is an all-new musical comedy based on the iconic characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. Featuring an original story, THE ADDAMS FAMILY tells the tale of every parent's nightmare! Your little girl has suddenly become a young woman and has fallen deliriously in love with a sweet, smart man from a respectable family. Yes, Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has a "normal" boyfriend, and for parents Gomez and Morticia, it's a shocking development that turns the Addams house upside down. THE ADDAMS FAMILY has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice of JERSEY BOYS fame, music and lyrics by Drama Desk Award winner Andrew Lippa, direction and design by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch,
and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.

Dancap is thrilled to be wrapping up the 2011 Subscription Series with MEMPHIS, one of
Broadway's most exciting new musicals. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Joe DiPietro and a Tony Award-winning original score by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan, MEMPHIS is directed by Tony nominee Christopher Ashley with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. From the underground dance clubs of 1950's Memphis, Tennessee, comes a hot new show with irresistible songs, sensational dancing and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Inspired by actual events, MEMPHIS is filled with laughter, loss and of course, roof-raising rock ‘n' roll!
