Comedian Adam Growe to Host YPT's Second Annual Comedy Fundraiser

Young People's Theatre (YPT) is delighted to be presenting their hugely-popular fundraising event LOL for YPT on Wednesday, February 3rd. Hosted by Adam Growe of Discovery Channel Canada's Cash Cab, this is a perfect break for Mom and Dad to laugh at the funny side ofparenting while supporting YPT's valuable programs for kids! LOL for YPT will also feature two of Canada's most popular comedians, Kate Davis and Chris Gibbs.

In addition to his hilarious work on Cash Cab, Adam Growe is an accomplished stand-up comic, starring in his own Just for Laughs Gala, as well as on Comedy NOW! on CTV, and CBC's COMICS!. Adam was also featured on Comedy Central's Premium Blend in New York and CBS's Star Search in Los Angeles.

Theatrically trained in England, Kate Davis returned to Canada to perform in her home country. From the theatre to the many stages of motherhood, she found her current passion during an open mic session one night at a local comedy club. Kate is now a twelve-time nominee at the Canadian Comedy Awards and the star of her own hour-long comedy special on CTV and the Comedy Network.

Chris Gibbs is best known for the critically acclaimed one-man comedy shows he performs all over Canada and beyond. He's played at Just for Laughs in Montreal, appeared in two CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival Galas, and starred in the indie Canadian feature film Run Robot Run. In 2015 he played one of the evil giants in the upcoming feature The BFG, directed by Steven Spielberg.

All proceeds from LOL for YPT will support the educational programming at Young People's Theatre, allowing children who wouldn't otherwise have the means to attend YPT's theatrical productions and participate in its renowned Drama School.
