The who's who of Canadian theatre comes together on Monday, October 7 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Elgin Theatre with the Chandelier Gala − an evening of song, dance and comedy.

Performers include: Cliff Saunders (The Drowsy Chaperone, Broadway company of 39 Steps, Beauty and the Beast), Paul Nolan (Tommy, Broadway company of Jesus Christ Superstar), Adam Brazier (Broadway company of Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You), David Rogers (The Phantom of the Opera, Into the Woods), Stephanie Martin (composer and performer), Jewelle Blackman (Tommy, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris), Stephen Patterson (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Urinetown), Sterling Jarvis (The Lion King, Of Mice and Men), Arlene Duncan (Ain't Misbehavin', Jacob Two-Two and the Hooded Fang), and jazz pianist and composer Joe Sealy. Past shows from the stages of the Elgin and Winter Garden theatres will also be spotlighted - including the new Canadian company of Cats, a tribute performance from the Stratford company of Tommy, and excerpts from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Napoleon.

Ross Petty − a favourite of the Elgin Theatre, who has been performing his holiday family musicals for the last 17 years − will join Dan Chameroy (Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story) for a special tribute to past pantomines.

Colin Mochrie, Deb McGrath and Sandra Shamas will round out the evening by reflecting on the history of the theatres, from vaudeville to the Toronto International Film Festival.

"We really wanted to give an excellent sampling of the historical richness of the Elgin and Winter Garden theatres," says Marlene Smith, Artistic Producer of the gala show. "It will be a fantastic night of entertainment with many talented performers."

The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre is a national historic site and the last operating double-decker theatre in the world. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.ticketmaster.ca or call 1-855-622-2787.
