BoucharDanse proudly presents the World Premiere of A Congruence of Arrivals showcasing Cross My Heart, choreographed by Denise Fujiwara and performed by Sylvie Bouchard, as well as At yes of day, choreographed by Yvonne Coutts, and performed by Sylvie Bouchard and Marc Boivin. The performances will take place at the Winchester Street Theatre on September 27th, 28th and 29th at 8:00pm with an additional 2:00pm matinée performance on September 29th. A reception will follow the opening night performance on Thursday, September 27th.
A Congruence of Arrivals will transport audiences to two different visions of dance, that both touch upon ideas of time and acceptance - how we move forward from struggles, with the hope to find gratefulness, courage and acceptance. In a journey through floating memories, Cross My Heart takes spectators through fragmented times, things unsaid and a desire to forget. At yes of day investigates reactivity versus response, and imposition versus serendipity.
"I am thrilled to bring these two works to the stage as part of a series of commissioned solos and duets," says Sylvie Bouchard, Artistic Director of BoucharDanse. "This project responds to my continued desire to meet and collaborate with artists whom I admire greatly, and whom are an inspiration to me. By showcasing one solo and one duet, this program also explores the relationship between artist and audience members at an intimate level."
A Congruence of Arrivals is the unveiling of the two first commissioned works from this series of four commissioned solos and duets. The program features performance by Sylvie Bouchard and Marc Boivin, music composed by Jesse Stewart (at yes of day) and Phil Strong (Cross My Heart), costume design by Cheryl Lalonde and lighting design by Jareth Li.

Founded by Artistic Director Sylvie Bouchard in 2009, BoucharDanse is an incubator of new artistic concepts and projects at the intersection of dance and theatre, developed through dynamic collaborations. It is a company devoted to artistic research, creation and presentation. BoucharDanse explores the space between the light and darkness, levity and gravity, and how the body occupies these in-between spaces, to offer new perspectives on the world and us.
Since its inception, while maintaining its ties to the wider community, BoucharDanse has also been very committed to building vibrant relationships with Francophone artists as well as with Francophone presenters and their audiences. Our desire and efforts to continue to grow and foster Francophone networks are very apparent in the activities we have laid out. We are guided by a desire to make dance inviting to both experienced and novice audiences, proposing unique dance experiences both in theatre venues and in non-traditional spaces, and offering our perspective from the Francophone culture.
