BWW Video: Meet the Guy and Girl From Toronto's Upcoming 'ONCE'

I'm thrilled to announce that BroadwayWorld has learned the casting for the Toronto sit down production of ONCE. The Toronto production of the Broadway hit musical will feature Ian Lake as Guy and Trish Lindstrom as Girl.

I had a moment to sit down with Lake and Lindstrom after their performance at the Mirvish Productions Season Launch Event this morning and talk about their upcoming performances at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.

"It feels incredible, I'm still pinching myself and asking is this actually real?" says Lindstrom. "I think until we start rehearsals it's just a concept. When it's out in the newspapers and people are texting congratulations, it's just a concept! I think what it's really about is what we did today: making music. We could be doing it (anywhere) and it's still the same job, so all the publicity around the Mirvish season is something I want to separate because it's really just about telling a story."

"With that said, it's a pretty great job to get!" exclaims Lake. "We both saw the show in New York at separate times, and I saw it and said I would love to do that! I had been playing the songs since the movie came out so to all of a sudden feel like we're going to get to do that is a little surreal. I've never done a musical before, so that kind of has me pinching myself because it's the first time I ever even auditioned for a musical."
