BEAUTIFUL, COME FROM AWAY, and THE ILLUSIONISTS and More to Come to Edmonton This Season

Broadway Across Canada will bring a bunch of fantastic shows to Edmonton for the 2018/2019 season. Among the Broadway offerings scheduled are Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, The Illusionists and Come From Away.

Broadway Across Canada's vice-president Shana Levin says that the company takes pride in programming that "features powerful true stories about community, empowerment and the power of the human spirit.", addding, "They are stories we could all learn from now."

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical - Jubilee Auditorium Nov. 6-11

Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of Carole King's remarkable rise to stardom from being part of a chart-topping songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music. She wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

The Illusionists- Jubilee Auditorium from Jan. 1-6

Full of hilarious magic tricks, death-defying stunts and acts of breathtaking wonder, THE ILLUSIONISTS has shattered box office records worldwide and thrilled audiences of all ages with a mind-blowing spectacular showcasing the jaw-dropping talents of five of the most incredible illusionists on earth.

Come From Away- Jubilee Auditorium March 12-17 (2019)

COME FROM AWAY is the breathtaking new musical that played record-breaking engagements in La Jolla and Seattle. Written by Canadians Irene Sankoff and David Hein, this is the stunning production from Tony-nominated director Christopher Ashley(Memphis) that the Los Angeles Times calls "an affecting and stirring new musical." In a heartbeat, 38 planes with 6,579 passengers were stranded in a remote town in Newfoundland. The locals opened their hearts and homes, hosting this international community of strangers- spurring unexpected camaraderie in extraordinary circumstances.

Season ticket holders will have first choice of tickets for two additional shows: Les Miserables (July 3-8) or The Book of Mormon (Sept. 18-23).

Season ticket packages for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, The Illusionists and Come From Away are now on sale.
