Anne of Green Gables, Canada's longest running musical, is coming to the Elgin Theatre as part of DanCap Productions current season. It plays from May 7th to the 24th, 2009. A hit every year at the very popular Charlottetown Festival, this is the first time Anne has graced a Toronto stage in many years.
While most of the principle cast members are already established, the producers need to cast some enthusiastic children to play various roles within the show. They are looking for kids between the ages of 8 and 12 who are no taller than 4 feet, 8 inches. They will be casting two boys and two girls.
The children chosen will be performing alternate performances for the duration of the run, and rehearsals will begin April 23rd, 2009.
Those interested in auditioning are invited to come to Studio A at the Lower Ossington Theatre (100 Ossington Avenue, north of Queen Street West) on Tuesday, April 21st 2009 at 6:30PM. Candidates do not require prepared material to audition as they will be instructed in choreography and songs from the show. They are asked to wear comfortable clothing and comfortable running or dance shoes. For more information on the open call, please contact at 416-590-0865 x309.
