Angelwalk Theatre, Toronto's premiere producer of Off-Broadway style musical theatre, launches its fifth anniversary season in 2013/2014 with a new production of Jonathan Larson's autobiographical musical, tick, tick...BOOM!

Best known for penning the Tony-Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical RENT, Larson's tick, tick...BOOM! is the only other musical he wrote in his all-too-short career. Winner of the 2001 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, this show tells the tale of a young composer on the brink of turning 30 and his fear of falling into oblivion. His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city, his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue, and yet Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the "great American musical". tick, tick...BOOM! takes you through the experiences of a struggling playwright and composer, and the journey that led to the Broadway blockbuster RENT.

tick, tick...BOOM! , a co-production with Newface Entertainment, will run from September 21 until October 6, 2013 at the Toronto Centre for the Arts Studio Theatre.
