AN UNEXPECTED EVENING OF SHAKESPEARE: December 1, 2010 at 8 p.m at Heliconian Hall; 35 Hazelton Ave.

Against the Grain Theatre performs its inaugural presentation, An Unexpected Evening of Shakespeare, on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Heliconian Hall. Under the direction of Joel Ivany, opera singers Miriam Khalil, Keith Klassen, Adam Luther, and Gene Wu, actor Rick Jon Egan, visual artist Andrew Sookrah, and pianist Christopher Mokrzewski collaborate to turn the classics sideways.

Featuring works written and inspired by William Shakespeare, the program includes dramatic and operatic excerpts by Bernstein, Verdi, Purcell, Prokofiev. The doors open to the public at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are "pay-what-you-can", and are available at the door only. www.againsthegraintheatre.com
