The JUNO Awards and Slaight Music announced today that Caveboy, Ivory Hours, and Quake Matthews have been selected as the 2018 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class winners. Chosen by a Super Jury comprised of JUNO alumni, this year's winners will receive support from Canada's premier artist development program to propel their careers to the next level and get "JUNO ready" before heading to the 2018 JUNO Awards in Vancouver.

This year's winners were selected by the 2018 Super Jury, including JUNO Award winners Lights, Kardinal Offishall, Max Kerman (Arkells) and Gavin Brown (JUNO Award winning producer), as well as Ali Slaight (Talent Development Coordinator at Slaight Music) and Allan Reid (President & CEO, CARAS/The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts).

"It's an honour to play a part in introducing the next generation of artists to a Canadian audience," said Lights. "It was a privilege to be a part of the selection process in choosing this year's winners with a panel of people I respect and admire hugely. We look forward to seeing the incredible things this year's finalists will do with the opportunities awarded to them by the Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class."

"The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class was designed with the intention of providing up-and-coming Canadian talent with the opportunity to learn the business of music from well-respected Canadian industry leaders," said Ali Slaight, Talent Development Coordinator, Slaight Music. "To be celebrating our third year championing the new wave of Canadian talent is a gratifying feeling for our family, and we are excited to see how the program will shape this year's winners."

Winners will receive an all-inclusive trip to Toronto for a week-long mentorship program (October 23 - 27, 2017) with leading Canadian artists and industry trailblazers, hosted by Canada's Music Incubator at Coalition Music. The program concludes with an industry showcase night in Toronto at the Rivoli. The winners will also receive a trip to the 2018 JUNO Awards in Vancouver, an opportunity to perform at JUNOfest and a chance to perform at the JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards on March 24. The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class also awards winners with studio time at Slaight Music Recording Studios, a cash investment in their careers, and more. Included in the prize, JUNO TV will be filming the 2018 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class experience and producing a mini docu-series to run in advance of the 2018 JUNO Awards on JUNOTV.ca. The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class program marries two key mandates of CARAS and the JUNO Awards: music education through MusiCounts, and the celebration and promotion of excellence through the JUNO Awards. The program aims to foster the growth of Canadian musicians through mentorship, education, skills training, development and deal-making opportunities.

Partners of the 2018 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class are Slaight Music, Canada's Music Incubator at Coalition Music, Manitoba Film & Music and the Canadian Federation of Musicians (CFM).
