Quest Theatre is now running PD Drama Camps for kids ages 9 - 12 at cSPACE King Edward, where they'll get the chance to try their hand at clowning, stage combat, mask, puppetry, musical theatre and improvisation on selected PD days throughout the school year.

Swift Creek Mill Theatre's annual performance camp ran July 22 through August 9. 23 student participants learned hands-on 21st Century Skills by producing and starring in their own show.

Who says you can't go home again? TV Producer Richie Jackson went “home” for the day to Long Island's Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts, where he attended from 1979-1981. 

On Tuesday, August 6th UN Celebrity Youth Activist and recording artist Meredith O'Connor visited the Long Island-based arts day camp, Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts.  

On August 5th, Jazz saxophone player and singer Grace Kelly trekked out to Long Island's Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts—the pre-eminent visual and performing arts day camp in New York— to perform as part of the camp's daily Festival Program.

Sergio Trujillo, who recently won the 2019 TONY award for Best Choreography for Ain't Too Proud shared his journey to reaching his dreams with over 150 campers. Campers had the opportunity to hold this coveted theatre award while Sergio asked them to make a pledge with themselves to follow their dreams.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) today announced plans for the 11th season of AileyCamp Miami, an award-winning free summer camp that uses dance as a vehicle for the personal development of hundreds of youth throughout Miami. To celebrate its continued success, the Arsht Center is rolling out a masterclass led by one of South Florida's most sought-after hip-hop teachers Tawanna Hall.

When it comes to Tony Award snubbing, there are several artistic high crimes and misdemeanors. For instance, Fiorello! winning Best Musical over Gypsy, or the good Music Man besting the better West Side Story. Or how about this awful upset: Two Gentlemen of Verona (the since-forgotten musical) beating both Grease and Follies for the top honor. Perhaps worst of all is this: Even though A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM was Stephen Sondheim's first and most successful Broadway show as a composer and lyricist, and even though it would win six of its eight nominated Tony Awards in 1962-1963 (including Best Musical), Mr. Sondheim himself was not even nominated for his lyrics and score. A show that features some of the most beloved comic songs from the early 1960's--'Comedy Tonight,' 'Lovely,' and 'Everybody Ought to Have a Maid'--wasn't even nominated for these iconic numbers. (For the record, Oliver! won that year for Best Score.) Broadway's greatest composer would have to wait almost a decade to receive his first Tony Award.

Emmy Award and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth returned to her hometown of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, just last month to lead the fifth annual Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway Boot Camp to help mold dozens of students who hope to make a career in the theatre arts industry.

Following the departure of Jefferson Park standby, Windy City Performs, former WCP teacher, Alicia Winton, creates a new youth summer camp for ages 7-13 under the name White Rabbit Theatre Company. The Colony Theatre in Burbank has announced the return of Camp C.R.E.A.T.E. (Create Really Exciting Art Together Every Day) this coming summer. Camp will be in session from June 24 through July 18, Monday through Thursday from 9am-12:30pm.
