BWW Interview: Will Holbrook Talks ROMEO AND JULIET and His Famous Grandpa by Don Grigware - February 20, 2017 Will, your grandpa is a truly great actor, one of the best. What is it like to perform for him? How has he inspired you? Is he attentive to your needs - both giving and constructively critical ... or does he leave you on your own to overcome your own failures? Is he happy or unhappy that you have chosen the acting profession? It isn't particularly different for me having him in the audience. He is an inspirational figure to me because he loves what he does and he works hard. There are many lessons in watching him work at his senior age, and observing his passion to keep moving is an incredible thing. I am very glad we get to have the grandfather-grandson relationship we do, and he is always asking me how he can help or if I have any questions. He has always been my grandpa first, and it is very comforting to know that I have someone who I can ask anything, about life or about the business. I think he is happy for me that I am pursuing my passion, and he sees where my heart is at, in the work and BWW Review: A Shakespearean Travesty You Must See at Dreamhouse Theatre by Deborah Bostock-Kelley - February 20, 2017 FAITH COUNTY II is 90 minutes of lighthearted, family-friendly silliness as Mineola, Arkansas' Council for Cultural Recognition amateur production of Romeo and Juliet Patrick Page and More Lead Shakespeare Workshop This Weekend at Red Bull Theater by BWW News Desk - February 18, 2017 These master instructors and top working professionals will take you from voice and text work to on-your-feet scene study and help you discover how to make Shakespeare's verse soar! BWW Review: Crazy For You, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Trinity Rep by Andria Tieman - February 15, 2017 Shakespeare can be a hard sell sometimes. His plays are long, they're frequently hard to understand, and often going to one seems like something you should do, rather than something you want to do. Well, Trinity Rep's production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM is the spoonful of sugar that makes the cultural medicine go down. Every detail of the sets and the costumes of this production is so well thought out that they create the perfect mashup of 1980's high school culture, which suits the storyline of the play to a T. After all, so many of Shakespeare's plays are about teenagers in love, why not set them at a prom in the 80's? Similar to Beowulf earlier this season, the cast and crew hold absolutely nothing back and this production is a cascade of color, glitter and Aqua Net with some excellent musical choices that need to be on their own mixtape. BWW Review: Spare, Disorienting RICHARD III at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company by Jack L. B. Gohn - February 13, 2017 This version of Richard III has been stranded in a World War I setting where it does not fit very well, and gives us an exceedingly tight focus on Richard himself, to the exclusion of a plethora of characters and relationships. The spareness of the resulting work is disorienting. Who are all these people and why are we supposed to care about them, again? Maybe we'll figure it out and maybe we won't. Richard remains a fascinating character: a moral and physical cripple who takes the audience into his confidence and challenges us to dislike him as he schemes, murders, seduces, and marries his way onto the throne.
