A sold-out crowd gathered at the Benedum Center as Pittsburgh CLO honored Allegheny County's finest high school performers at the 28th Annual Pittsburgh CLO Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

The Bobby G Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in Colorado high-school musical theatre. Each year, the DCPA NewsCenter singles out a specific category and spotlights the five nominees. This year, we salute the Outstanding Chorus nominees. The sixth annual Bobby G Awards take place Thursday, May 24, at the Buell Theatre.

With the aim of inspiring performance and recognizing the importance of musical theater and arts education in Northeast Ohio high schools, Playhouse Square held the third annual Dazzle Awards presented by Patricia & John Chapman on Saturday, May 19. The Dazzle Awards are affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards("The Jimmy Awards") presented by The Broadway League Foundation.

Along with Marchael Bayne, Theatre in the Park, and ABC 11, DPAC hosted this year's Triangle Rising Stars Awards onstage on Tuesday evening, May 15.  The Triangle Rising Star Awards (TRS) is a program that brings together area high school musical theater students to perform together and compete against one another for educational scholarships. Last year's winners, Kaylee Terrell and Nicholas Kraft, presented the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor, while awards were also given for Best Ensemble and Best Musical.

The Broadway Education Alliance just announced that The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan. This program is open to high schools located in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Orange and Rockland Counties, and Westchester. To be eligible, high schools must present an officially licensed production of a Broadway musical during the 2017- 2018 academic year. The Roger Rees Awards has accepted 29 schools, whose students will compete for the title of Best Actor and Best Actress. Winners of the Roger Rees Award will represent the Greater New York region at The Broadway League Foundation's Jimmy® Awards (also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards) in June.

High school theatre students and instructors across metropolitan Kansas City and in neighboring communities received their nominations yesterday for the 16th Annual Blue Star Awards from Starlight Theatre. Starlight leaders, staff and board members personally delivered 132 nominations to 30 area high schools. On Thursday night, May 17, winners of the 2018 Blue Star Awards will be announced and receive their honors in a public ceremony on Starlight's Cohen Community Stage.

Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce the twenty-four students nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress, and nominees for Best Production presented by Guardian Music Travel, Best Direction and Best Scenic Design presented by SPL for the seventh annual Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards. The nominees (12 young actors and 12 young actresses), selected after evaluating 80 productions across the state of Illinois, have been invited to participate in the Awards program, which will be held at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 6:30PM and hosted by NBC 5 entertainment reporter LeeAnn Trotter. More than 600 students from 24 high schools will take the Eccles Theater Stage for the eighth annual Utah High School Musical Theatre Awards May 12. The Awards represent a musical theatre scholarship program that rewards excellence at the high school level. Ten show-stopping numbers from 10 juried musicals will showcase the Best Musical finalists from schools across the state.

Tickets are now on sale for the Kravis Center Dream Awards: Celebrating High School Musical Theater Excellence. This showcase performance event will be held at 7 pm on Sunday, June 3, at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts' Dreyfoos Hall and will feature student performers from 10 local high schools. Ticket prices start at $15 and featured musicals will include Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Bye Bye Birdie, The Drowsy Chaperone, Fiddler on the Roof, Ghost, Hairspray, Kiss Me Kate, Legally Blonde, Oliver! Since their inception in 1996, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre presented by the Investors Foundation have ignited the careers of many notable performers, all of whom attended high school in New Jersey.

The Kenny Awards is celebrating its 25th year of honoring area high schools' musical theatre productions in 2018! Having awarded $120,000 over the past 24 years, The Kenny Awards, presented by Shea's Performing Arts Center and The Lipke Foundation, is an endeavor that recognizes the talent, dedication, and efforts of our local high school youth.
