Today in 1998, Ragtime opened at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts (now the Foxwoods Theatre), where it ran for 834 performances. The musical garnered four Tony Awards including Best Book, Original Score and Best Orchestrations. The beloved Ahrens and Flaherty score features some of the award-winning team's best-known songs including the title song, 'Make Them Hear You' and the anthem 'The Wheels of a Dream.' A revival opened at the Neil Simon Theatre in 2009.

Tyne Daly, Norm Lewis, Lea Salonga to Lead RAGTIME Concert at Lincoln Center, 2/18

Manhattan Concert Productions has just announced Tyne Daly as Emma Goldman, Norm Lewis as Coalhouse Walker Jr., and Lea Salonga as Mother to appear in the upcoming concert performance of RAGTIME for one night only in New York's acclaimed Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday, February 18, 2013.

Manhattan Concert Productions has just announced Stafford Arima as Stage Director for a concert performance of Ragtime The Musical in New York's Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on February 18, 2013. Twenty-four year old pianist Lee Cohen was selected for his energetic and skilful rendition of 'Magnetic Rag'. Contest judge Paul Sportelli said of Cohen's performance, "Lee is a terrific pianist, and he has a great feel and facility for ragtime. His 'Magnetic Rag' crackles with energy!"
