Children's classic Kukla, Fran & Ollie, the live ad-libbed puppet show that also became a magnet for adults, debuted on NBC on November 29, 1948. On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1985, NBC sportscaster Ahmad Rashad popped the question to his girlfriend, COSBY SHOW star Phylicia Ayers-Allen, on national TV. The off-the-cuff proposal occured during the pregame portion of the 'NFL '85' broadcast of the New York Jets at Detroit Lions game.
