Cameron Mackintosh's current touring production of Les Miserables will run at London's Barbican Theatre, it's English-language birthplace in 1985, for 22 performances through October 2, 2010. According to Dress Circle, a special 25th anniversary two-disc edition of 'Les Misérables Live!' will be released in the UK on September 13. The recorded cast includes Madalena Alberto, Ashley Artus, Earl Carpenter, Gareth Gates, Katie Hall, Rosalind James, and other members of the 2010 UK Tour. The tour will play at the Barbican Theatre in London for 22 performances, beginning on September 14.

The paper reports 'Cameron Mackintosh told me yesterday: 'I went up to him at the closing night party in New York and told him he was terrific and hoped that one day he would return to play Marius. We've been in touch a lot and, of course, since then he has become this world-famous star. 'He and his father and I agreed that it would be great if he came and played Marius here in London.'

Produced by Stage Entertainment Spain, Les Miserables will open in Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid on November 18th 2010, directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell. It will be the second time this classic musical by Boubil and Schönberg hits the city. It first arrived in 1992, produced by José Tamayo, Plácido Domingo and Cameron Mackintosh.

Taylor John, who performed on Broadway in the role of Gavroche in the early 90's, died Tuesday morning at the age of 28. John had been struggling with depression for several years, reported his sister Tamara Mannelly, who said that John died as a result of a seizure and heart failure caused by an overdose of prescription drugs.
