Let's hear it for he boys! And boy did we hear 'em.  We recently welcomed some of Broadway's most talented dudes to Broadway Sessions for a night full of testosterone and, well, um… showtimes. We also welcomed back past Rising Stars Jose Plaza, Melanie Sierra, Jessica Lieberman and Kate Corsaro.

Baldwin Wallace has a long and storied history of producing tremendous theatrical talents. We very proud of our relationship with BW and were thrilled to welcome a new batch of mega stars to Broadway Sessions recently.  Helping to welcome the grads were BW alumni and Broadway scene stealers  Jai'Len Josey (Spongebob), Zach Adkins (Anastasia) and John Kramer (Book of Mormon). We also enjoyed special performance by Christopher Timson and The Beechman's own Michael Kirk Lane.

Someone once said, "Don't Be Cruel, to a Heart That's True"… but it's not ALWAYS a good idea to repress your cruel intentions. Especially if your intention is to create a completely madcap music theatre 90's pop/rock concert retelling of the 90's cult classic Cruel Intentions. Well, thank the musical theatre gods someone saw fit to do just that.

As they say in Damn Yankees- " You gotta have heart, miles and miles and miles of heart". Or did they mean to say "You gotta have HARTT"? Either way, we had both at Broadway Sessions recently as we welcomed the extremely talented 2018 MT grads from The HARTT School alongside talented HARTT alumni. ROLE TIDE! That's University of Alabama's war cry. What does it mean? Well, I'm not exactly sue, but it might as well mean "Roll out the talent"! We learned that much at Broadway Sessions recently as we welcomed the '18 MT grads and alumni from "Bama". Enjoy highlights from this magical musical night here.

Broadway Sessions recently celebrated the music of award winning composing team Thomson and Desmon. Jeffrey Thomson and Jeremy Desmon are responsible for musicals One Hit Wonder, The Oliver Experiment, Pump Up the Volume and the highly anticipated Nancy Drew. Wonderful writers tend to have some wonderful friends who tend to want to get their hands on their music! And that's a very good thing.

Well my friends, Jersey Boys is back on the boards at New World Stages and all is right with the world. We were fortunate enough to welcome the stars of Jersey Boys to Broadway Sessions recently, and "Oh What a Night" it was. Enjoy highlights from performances by Aaron DeJesus (Frankie Valli), Cory Jeacoma (Bob Gaudio) and Skye Scott (Bob Crewe). Plus our teenage "Rising Stars"- Jack D'Angelo and Avery Carlson.

Once a month Broadway Sessions open the mic and the stage up to fabulous performers from all walks of life. Last month we were delighted to welcome vocalists from England, Scotland, Argentina and Uruguay as well as some of the best undiscovered singers in NYC. As you know, February is Black History Month. We here at Broadway Sessions wanted to take a moment to reflect on the massive impact of African American legacy on Broadway and beyond. We rallied an incredible roster of some of Broadway's most fantastic voices to speak and sing on the subject. The result was moving and hilarious and powerful and poignant. And the singing? Well, let's just say y'all aren't ready for this!

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. This Thursday night, February 22nd, Broadway Sessions welcomes cast members from the new Off Broadway production of Jersey Boys and more.

We find all kinds of families when working in the theatre. Each new cast is a family. Well, it was my pleasure to welcome some of my very own family, my WAMFAM, to Broadway Sessions recently. Of course, I mean performers from the roster at Whole Artist Management- where I'm not just a spokesperson, I'm a client. Bikini Bottom came to The Laurie Beechman Theatre recently as we welcomed the colorful cast of Spongebob Squarepants for our 2018 season kick off. Few new musicals have been quite so critically well received as The Band's Visit. It was with the same enthusiasm and love that we recently welcomed the cast of The Band's Visit to Broadway Sessions. Hi friends! This week we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of the holiday season. A time for giving, caring and gathering with family and friends. And there's nothing quite as magical as the wonder and awe of kids during this festive time. We recent;y gathered some insanely talented Broadway youngsters to belt it out for us at Sessions. We wrangled up Matilda's Talia Ryder, South Pacific vet Lala as well as 3 talented gents who currently star in the great big show at the great big hall over on 6th avenue- Robert Montano, Hunter Kovacs and Will Ehren. Ok ok, we also let some fabulous adults take the mic including Side Show's Josh Walker, Anthony Fett, Colleen Harris, Kate Corsaro and more open mic dazzlers. Enjoy highlights here!

A dream is a wish your heart makes. I dreamed a dream in time gone by. To dream the impossible dream . well anyway, you get it. Broadway loves to dream. And nobody facilitates those dreams quite like the Broadway Dreams Foundation. We welcomed the Broadway Dreams Foundation to Sessions recently to celebrate on the week of their annual NYC showcase. Join us were BDF faculty members Quentin Earl Darrington, Christopher Hanke, MiMi Scardulla, Todd Buonopane, Noah Ricketts, Galen Williams and more. Beyond that, we were thrilled to welcome international BDF students from Russia, Brazil and Sweden who brought the house all the way down. Showtunes in foreign languages! Recently Broadway Sessions welcomed the cast of the hilarious new musical web series WISCO QUEENS. Our audience enjoyed sneak peeks of the series on the big screen as well as performances from the talented cast. The Halloween season comes with a lot of tricks and treats. Well, we got the ultimate treat on October 26th, just days before Wicked's 14th anniversary (aka Wicked Day), as well celebrated our 3rd annual ELPHA-BALL! A coven of actresses who have defied gravity in Wicked as Elphaba joined to hare witchy songs and stories from their time in Oz. Mamie Parris (Graizabella in Cats), Caroline Bowman, Laurel Harris (Beautiful), Julie Reiber (Come From Away) and Carla Stickler blew the roof of The Beechman. We also enjoyed performances by our Rising Star Nicole Vande Zande. Enjoy highlights from this epic night here.

It was a New Works Palooza' recently at Broadway Sessions as we welcomed some of NYC's most celebrated writers and composers to share their latest and greatest with us! Well the latest and greatest music deserves some of the greatest voices and we got just that! Writers Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde, Bat Boy, Heathers), Rob Rokicki (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, Monster Songs), Nat Zagree, Carner and Gregor, Drew Gasparini, Thomson and Desmon, Nate Bertone and Melissa Modifier, Alexander Sage Oyen and Joe Iconis all presented amazing new music interpreted by vocalists Luca Padovan ( School of Rock), Allie Trimm (13), Emily Schultheis (Wicked), Imari Hardon (Avenue Q), Kate Loprest (Wicked), Janinie DiVIta (If/Then), Marissa Rosen (DIVA) and more. Enjoy these hot new tunes, cause you never know what's gonna be the next big song on Broadway or in your audition book!

If anything it true about Broadway Sessions, it's that we are all about the people and belting we're all about the people and belting. And no other night of the month brings those two things together quite like our ALL OPEN MIC party. We closed out September with one of our most epic evenings of song yet!
