Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS announced today that $150,000 will be donated on behalf of the Broadway community and all Broadway Cares supporters to three service organizations in central Florida committed to reaching out and providing emergency assistance to the victims of the Pulse nightclub mass shooting, and their families and friends.

While the Tony Awards dedicated Sunday night's broadcast to the victim's of the Orlando shooting, others have been sending support and voicing concern and outrage over the horrible incident. In the wake of the events, Broadway Cares has just announced that extra security measures will be in place for next week's Broadway Bares:

The company of Fun Home was runner-up for turning West Side Story's 'Gee Officer Krumpkee!' into a plea to Miranda to write a show for them. The 30th annual Easter Bonnet Competition, celebrating six weeks of fundraising by 58 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies, raised a record-shattering $5,528,568 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the largest grand total from either an Easter Bonnet Competition or Gypsy of the Year fundraising campaign in Broadway Cares history. The show will be performed at 7 pm and 9 pm at Whyte Hall's Brandon Fradd Theater.
