Tony Award-winner Karen Ziemba was the special guest performer for the evening, which honored Tony-winner John Larroquette of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, stage, film, & TV star Brooke Shields, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, and managing partner & co-founder of Stonehenge Partners, Ofer Yardeni. In the 2010-2011 season, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT was honored with three Best Musical award nominations from the Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award organizations. Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon has also received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical in addition to Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominations and the Theatre World Award for outstanding Broadway debut. Sheldon was also honored with a Tony nomination as were costume designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner, who took home the prize. In celebration of the nominations, the company took the stage at the 2011 Tony Awards on Sunday with a performance of 'It's Raining Men' with the song's composer Paul Shaffer and original songstress Martha Wash. Ratings Up for Tony Awards this Year!

Last night's official network ratings are in and the Tony Awards saw an overall increase in viewship of 9% from last year's ceremony. The ceremony, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, posted year-to-year gains in adults 18-49. Airing opposite Game 6 of the NBA Finals on ABC, the Tony Awards were second in households (4.5/07), viewers (6.92m) and adults 25-54 (1.6/04) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.2/03, with NBC).
