Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told
By William Shakespeare, Adapted by Patrick McMinn
Presented through special arrangement with Conejo Artist Theatre
Directed by: Patrick McMinn
Produced by: Dana Marley-Kolb
It’s 1935 – and the Great Depression is upon us. In fair Verona, Mississippi, where we lay our scene, hope is in short supply while despair is abundant. Yet amongst this gloom, tension, and misery Romeo and Juliet’s young impetuous love becomes a breath of fresh air, bringing a ray of hope to the oppressive hatred and lingering prejudices that envelop the town.
