Shakespeare Orange County to Produce THE TRAGEDIE OF MACBETH August 14-31

THE TRAGEDIE OF MACBETH is set to perform August 15 - August 31, 2013 with a preview on August 14, 2013 at Shakespeare Orange County. Directed by Thomas F. Bradac, THE TRAGEDIE OF MACBETH performs in the Festival Amphitheatre in Garden Grove, California.

When a trio of witches reveal that Macbeth will become King of Scotland, a dark trail of murder, bloodshed, and corruption unwinds. Filled with uncertainty of the path he's taken, Macbeth is led by his calculating wife, Lady Macbeth, towards the dark choices he must make in their pursuit for power. Struggling with his morality, Macbeth's obsession begins to consume his very being. Veteran actors John Walcutt and Evelyn Carol Case will play the parts of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Mike Peebler will play the part of Macduff.

The cast includes John Walcutt, Evelyn Carol Case, Mike Peebler, Craig Tryl, Will Gillean, Carl Reggiardo, Alyssa Bradac, Cindy Nguyen, Jeremy Schaeg, Sam Spajian, Zack Weed, Gene Godwin, Nick Reinhardt, Craig Brown, Donathan Walters, Bonnie Walker, and Stephen Novick.

Both John Walcutt and Evelyn Carol Case return to the Festival Amphitheatre in the roles of Macbeth and his lady after performing in last season's production of RICHARD III. Walcutt is a seasoned actor whose theatre credits include the title role in RICHARD III and Cassius in JULIUS CAESAR with Shakespeare Orange County. Other credits include work with South Coast Rep, the Mark Taper Forum, La Jolla Playhouse, The Old Globe, and the Folger Theatre Company, among others. He has guest-starred in nearly 200 television shows and has appeared in numerous films. Credits include TITANIC, SEA BISCUIT, GREY'S ANATOMY, GHOST WHISPERER, JAG, and MAD MEN. Evelyn Carol Case has appeared with Shakespeare Orange County as Elizabeth in RICHARD III, Gertrude in HAMLET, Goneril in KING LEAR, Beatrice in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, Venus in VENUS AND ADONIS, and many other roles. She has performed extensively throughout the United States, and has appeared at the Laguna Playhouse, Shakespeare Orange County, Theatre on the Green, American Stage Company, Pennsylvania Stage Company, and Arkansas Repertory Theatre, among others. Recently she has performed at the Prague Shakespeare Festival with Shakespeare Orange County's production of VENUS AND ADONIS. She has also worked as part of CSU Summer Arts' Steppenwolf classes. Mike Peebler has appeared both on stage, TV, and film in numerous roles. Theatre credits include the title role in HAMLET, Orlando in AS YOU LIKE IT, Jeff in OMNIUM GATHERUM (West Coast Premiere) at Theatricum Botanicum. TV and Film credits include MAD MEN, THE MENTALIST, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, ER, VALKYRIE, and THE NEW TWENTY.

Individual tickets are $35 for adults and $33 for students and seniors. The Festival Amphitheater is located in Euclid Park -- 12762 Main St., Garden Grove, CA. 92840. Performances for all SOC productions begin at 8:15 p.m. A speciAl Green show will be presented nightly at 7:30 p.m., and free pre-performance discussions with Dr. Kent Lehnhoff will be conducted on selected evenings.
