The Santa Paula Theater Center presents HEROES by Gerald Sibleyras, adapted by Tom Stoppard on its Main Stage running from tonight, Sept. 5 through Oct. 12. Regular performances are on Friday and Saturday Evenings at 8pm and Sunday Matinees at 2:30 pm.

The comedy, HEROES, takes place in 1959 in a home for retired World War I veterans. Our three "HEROES" find themselves fed up with just reliving old war stories and begin looking for adventure beyond the cemetery they overlook from their patio each day. A plan to escape their humdrum existence develops as they imagine the freedom beyond- Indochina or just the hill behind the poplars? HEROES was the recipient of the Lawrence Olivier Best New Comedy Award.

HEROES features a stellar cast of three with Philippe being played by Tom Puckett, Gustave by David Ralphe, and Richard Winterstein as Henri. Eric Stein directs the project with Leticia Mattson and Leslie Nichols producing. Resident Set Designer Mike Carnahan, Lead SPTC Costumer Barbara Pedziwiatr, and Resident Lighting Designer Gary Richardson support the production with their design skills and Gail Heck returns as Prop Mistress.

Reservations for HEROES running from today, Sept. 5-Oct. 12 can be made through the Santa Paula Theater Center Box Office at 805.525.4645 or on the web site santapaulatheatercenter.org. Regular admission prices are $20.00, Seniors, Students, and Military $18.00, and Children $15.00. Performances are Friday and Saturday Evenings at 8pm, Sunday Matinees at 2:30.
