The penultimate Mainstage production of Conejo Players Theatre's 60th Anniversary Season kicks off September 14, when the hilarious romp Is He Dead? takes to the CPT stage.

Is He Dead? - written by the legendary humorist Mark Twain and adapted by David Ives - is a madcap and boisterous comic farce. Think commedia dell'arte and Moliere mixed with a healthy smattering of The Marx Brothers, and you've got this show! Jean-Francois Millet, a young painter of genius, realizes that the only way he can pay his off his debts is to die. And so, Millet fakes his death and passes himself as his own sister, the rich Widow Tillou - but soon, he's got to find a way to get out of the dress and marry Marie, the love of his life. Don't miss the show David Rooney of Variety called "a ripely enjoyable confection" and Terry Teachout of the Wall Street Journal called "shriekingly funny"!

The cast includes Nicholas Johnson as Jean-Francois Millet; Robert Chambers as Phelim O'Shaughnessy; Nick Bemrose as Agamemnon Buckner (a.k.a. Chicago); Ezra Eells as Hans Von Bismarck (a.k.a. Dutchy); Jim Seerden as Papa Leroux; Lauren Rachel as Marie Leroux; Dawn Notagiacomo as Cecile Leroux / Lefaux; Thomas Carbone as Basil Thorpe / Claude Rivière / Charlie; Kyle Johnson as Bastien André; Erin Fagundes as Madame Bathilde / Sultan of Turkey; Judy Diderrich as Madame Caron / Emperor of Russia; and Jeremy Zeller as King of France. Is He Dead? is directed by Randi Saxer Redman and Tanner Redman, and produced by Leo Zeller - with set and lighting design by Jeremy Zeller and Tanner Redman, and costume design by Barbara Mazeika. This production is rated PG.
