The Civic Arts Plaza (CAP) is proud to announce the current line-up for the 2018-2019 season.
CAP is the private, non-profit, in-house presenting division of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. CAP has a strong tradition of hosting great musicians and artists, which will continue this year with a diverse array of performing arts.
The incredible line-up includes names familiar to all: Lilly Tomlin, Loudon Wainwright, Kathleen Madigan, Rodney Crowell, Mark Wills, and Johnny Boyd. Artists bought back by popular demand include Engelbert Humperdinck, America, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey, and Live from Laurel Canyon. A Magical Cirque Christmas debuts for the first time in Thousand Oaks, just in time for holidays.
The intimate Scherr Forum will host its largest comedy season yet with a new comedy series; The Outsourced Comedy Tour, The Undeportables and The Every Woman Comedy Tour. In addition, other comedians to make an appearance this season include Justin Willman and Tom Papa.
Other shows in the season that were already announced include Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns Tour, American Idol Live! 2018, Kenny G, Five for Fighting, Postmodern Jukebox and Brian Wilson presents the Christmas Album Live.
The partnership between CAP and National Geographic Live will continue for a third year and will bring four speakers. Climber and adventure writer Mark Synnott, wildlife photographer Bertie Gregory, professor of Egyptology Kara Cooney and marine biologist and photographer Thomas Peschak. Shows can be purchased as a series or as single tickets.
The season officially opens July 6 with Dave Koz & Friends performing at the Fred Kavli Theatre. Additional shows will be added all year long.
All tickets for CAP performances will go on sale June 6.
