Cabrillo Music Theatre celebrates its' partnership with the Westlake Village Inn by hosting an "open mic" night at Bogie's, the popular nightspot at the Inn. For one night only - July 21, 2015 - Cabrillo Music Theatre will turn Bogie's into a musical theatre cabaret, featuring the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein, the world's greatest American Musical Theatre songwriters. OPEN MIC NIGHT coincides with Cabrillo Music Theatre's upcoming production of the famed team's OKLAHOMA. Cabrillo Music Theatre is inviting all of the talented local theatre companies to participate and expands the celebration to include local performers. The public is welcome to get up and sing, too - and admission is free! OPEN MIC NIGHT takes place on July 21st, 7:30PM, at Bogie's, 32001 Agoura Road, Westlake Village, adjoining the luxurious Westlake Village Inn.
"Anything written by Richard Rodgers, or Oscar Hammerstein II, or both, is fair game," says Lewis Wilkenfeld, Artistic Director of Cabrillo Music Theatre. "Just bring in your piano music in the right key, and give it to the accompanist. It's a bar, of course, so you can choose whether to have a drink before you sing, or after!" Adds Wilkenfeld, "I'm particularly excited to welcome our wonderful, talented partners at all the local theatre companies. I hope they join us for the fun! We want to make this a recurring event!"
