BWW Reviews: Having A Little Faith: TONY Award Winner Faith Prince Brings her Southern Charm to the Conejo Valley

TONY Award winning actress, Faith Prince, is bringing her one-woman cabaret act in addition to her world-renowned Master Class to the Conejo Valley the weekend of October 10th. Of Note Productions is producing this weekend event. Of Note Productions seeks to provide the people of Ventura County special event performances by the most notable contributors to Broadway, Off-Broadway and NYC Cabaret. They are committed to enriching the cultural life of this community by providing high quality performances, elegant receptions celebrating these artists, as well as educational events that will inspire and engage local playgoers and students of all ages, giving them the opportunity to learn from those at the very top of their field.

Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Miss Prince via cell from her main residence in Northern California. We were talking as she was executing her daily walk around the neighborhood, "I'm always on the move" she tells me as our five minute conversation quickly turned to fifteen. It was as if we were two friends catching up.

But that's how she is. And that is what Faith Prince brings to her performances and her teaching -

She gives.

She cares.

She listens.

She shares.

As a student attending her Master Class on Saturday, October 11th, this is exactly what you will experience. With her teaching partner, Natasha Burr, Miss Prince created Minimoon Studios (www.minimoon.co/) to fill a need within the Arts...the need for education and practical life experience and guidance.

Miss Prince's process focuses on five main objectives within the coaching to assist the student: ASSESMENT: assessing each individual's goals to tailor a focused curriculum. BRAINSTORM: "brainstorming" to find each individual's acting style. NAVIGATION: discovering each individual's "personal voice". REAL WORLD GUIDANCE: the business of show. NETWORKING: the bridge between the acting world and the education world. EDUCATION: assisting in locating further college and university programs if desired. She has taken this process and her teaching and has taught around the world and within her Master Class are her (what her industry friends like to call) "...Faith-isms". These are little sound-bites or phrases that you carry with you throughout your career to assist you when you need it.

Not surprisingly as an audience attending her Cabaret Show on Friday October 10th, you will experience a performance from whom the cabaret community is affectionately calling as one of the favorite "Cabaret Queens". Faith Prince brings her decades of stage experience and "...life" (as she says) to the stage in her one- woman show. Critically acclaimed and unanimously reviewed for her genuineness and bubbly personality, the evening is sure to be filled with memories and song that seamlessly flow together to provide the atmosphere of an "in your living room conversational" evening.

The Master Class with Faith Prince is on Saturday, October 11th. Sign in is at 9am. The workshop begins promptly at 9:30am and will end at Noon. Registration is mandatory and is only $25. Each student is to prepare 2 contrasting musical theatre songs. Have the sheet music in the correct key for both when you arrive. The songs must be memorized and rehearsed. The workshop will take place at the Marvin E. Smith Community Room at the Grant Birmhall Public Library in Thousand Oaks.
