A SOLDIER'S PLAY Opens August 12 at Loft Ensemble Theatre

LOFT ENSEMBLE announces opening night of their production of A SOLDIER'S PLAY by Charles Fuller., presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Performances begin with opening night August 12th at 8 pm.

In a Louisiana army camp in 1944 CapT. Taylor, the white C.O., has a problem. He commands a black company whose sergeant has been murdered. He is worried the murderer may be a white officer or the local Klan. A black captain, Richard Davenport, is assigned to investigate.

The Cast includes: Cameron Britton (Stitchers, David Fincher'sMindhunter), Victor Chaponot, Rah Johnson, Craig Jones, John F. Knight, Jr, Ryan Lacey, Chris Oliver, Austin Rapp, Jefferson Reid,Marc Stallion, Chaise Tait and Tony Williams as Sgt. Waters.

Loft Ensemble is one of Los Angeles's up and coming resident theatre companies, consistently offering some of the most high energy and ground breaking productions in the area. In its young history, Loft has won several awards including this year's Valley Theate Award for Best Actress in a Play, two Ovation Awards in 2015, Best Ensemble at the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival, and back to back Producers' Encore Awards at the Hollywood Fringe Festival for 2015 and 2016. Two of Loft's 2016 productions earned a combined five nominations for the 2016 BroadwayWorld Awards and ten nominations for the 2017 VAlley Theatre Awards.

Loft Ensemble has been at the forefront of providing unusual productions with a risk-taking voice and creative approaches to tackling the challenges of an intimate theatre setting.
