Carrollwood Players Theatre presents
Jukebox Saturday Night - 80s Edition
Written and Directed by Jim Russell
A CWP Black Box Production
April 26th – May 5th, 2024
Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sundays at 2 p.m.
It’s 1987 somewhere in the Midwest. At Big Bart’s Burger Barn, local kids have been singing around the jukebox, drinking shakes, and falling in love since the 50s.
Now, some of those kids are all grown up and have children of their own. Arnie and Margie, who worked at the diner as teens, now own it. They hope to pass the business onto their son.
Arnie and Margie’s best friends, Dean and Ellen, and their son, run a nearby potato farm and are still part of the Big Bart’s family. Everyone is very happy and thoroughly enjoying the 80s.
But when an evil land developer and his strange daughter threaten to take the diner, everyone must band together and use the music of the 80s to save Big Bart’s.
During the fight of their lives, they use the power of music to battle darkness, find love, and save the best burger joint in the tri-county area.
Presented with the support of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.
Jukebox Saturday Night - 80s Edition is presented through special ASCAP concert licensing.
