freeFall Theatre opens 2015 with Natalie Symons' comedy The Buffalo Kings playing January 17 - February 8. In this world premiere production of Symons' new play, as in life, comedy can be found in the most unlikely of places. The King family are gathered together for Christmas and struggling to heal in the wake of a hate crime committed against fifteen-year-old Nick (Joseph Flynn). But things really start to get interesting when his senile grandfather Harold (Joe D. Lauck) threatens to take matters in his own hands. The Buffalo Kings is a touching and often fiercely funny coming of age story that examines the inner lives of a family at once deeply dysfunctional and uniquely vibrant. A star-studded cast, including Katherine Michelle Tanner (American Stage's The Amish Project) and Brian Shea (freeFall's The Vibrator Play), Chris Crawford (American Stage's My Name is Asher Lev), Joseph Flynn (freeFall's The Burnt Part Boys) and Jim Sorensen (Asolo Rep's South Pacific) will breathe life into the world of Symons' captivating, neurotic, and lovable characters. The Buffalo Kings also features freeFall newcomers Joe Lauck (Steppenwolf Theatre) and Jenny Aldrich (Banyan Theatre). The play is directed by freeFall Artistic Director Eric Davis.

"freeFall has always been committed to presenting new works as part of our season of shows." says Outreach and Marketing Director Matthew McGee. "We are especially excited to present the work of a playwright that lives right here in Tampa Bay."

The Buffalo Kings begins previews on January 16. Tickets can be obtained by contacting the box office. Contact Matthew at 727-498-5205 (X 7) for information on group rates and show availability. The theatre is located at 6099 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg.
