Washington And Eisenstadt present Begins The 2018 Season with TRUE WEST Image

Washington and Eisenstadt Present are kicking off their 2018 season with "True West" by Sam Shepard, playing January 5-7 at The Studio at The Carrollwood Cultural Center. A finalist for the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, "True West" offers commentary on money and greed and the effect they can have on a family.

"True West" tells the story of Austin (Jeremy J. Cunningham), a Hollywood screenwriter, and his prodigal older brother, Lee (Paul Berg). Though they differ in nearly every aspect, the brothers must work together to write a screenplay while engaged in an intense psychological
battle for ideals and perhaps their lives. The cast also includes Richard Haerther as Saul Kimmer and Mary Kay Cyrus as Mom, with Aaron Washington directing.

"Even outside of a familial situation, the idea of communication and people understanding and respecting each other is really so important these days, along with knowing how to appreciate what each person can bring to the table, whatever table that is." said Washington.

Tickets cost $20 and are on sale now. They can be purchased by calling the Carrollwood Cultural Center box office at 813-922-8167 or by visiting their Facebook page. Tickets can also be purchased through the event page on Facebook hosted by Washington and Eisenstadt Present. Shows are on January 5 and 6 at 8 pm and January 7 at 4 pm.
