Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Announces Return of Friday Fest this Summer, Begin 6/21

For many Sarasotans, summer time brings backyard barbecues, beachside lounging, and for those who know Sarasota's secret sunset hot spot... Friday Fest! From June through September, on the third Friday of the month, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall opens up its waterfront terrace to beach chairs, local vendors, and the finest local entertainment. This Summer's lineup is sure to keep you dancing until the sun goes down.

Kicking off the Friday Fest Series on June 21, 2013 is Yesterdayze, a '60s throwback band with enough flower power to put a smile on anyone's face. July 19th will feature the bluesy classic rock sounds of Kettle of Fish, who has toured all over the country opening for some of the biggest acts in the business. On August 16th, the island vibes of Impulse will have you on your feet with their irresistibly danceable mix of reggae, zouk, and calypso. Finally, closing out the season on September 20th will be the Sarasota country superstars One Night Rodeo, playing their high energy brand of contemporary country.

Bring a blanket, chair, and your sunglasses, and enjoy a beautiful sunset over Sarasota Bay whilst listening to some great tunes, surrounded by great people and great food. No outside beverages, food, or coolers are allowed. And, dancing shoes are encouraged, but optional!
