Stageworks Theatre presents A RAISIN IN THE SUN by Lorrianne Hansberry. This groundbreaking play opened on Broadway in 1959. Set on Chicago's South Side, the plot revolves around the divergent dreams and conflicts within three generations of the Younger family. Sacrifice, trust and love among the Younger family and their heroic struggle to retain dignity in a harsh and changing world is a searing and timeless document of hope and inspiration. It was the first play written by a black woman to be produced on Broadway.

The Tampa production will be directed by Ron Bobb-Semple, and featuring Brittney Bellamy, Kibwe Dorsey, Josh Goff, Rico Gordon, Tia Jemison, Peter Konowitz, Robert Richards and Cassandra Small.

A RAISIN IN THE SUN will open on October 4 and run through the 20th, Thursdays to Saturdays at 8PM, and Sundays at 3PM. Tonight, October 3rd, there will be a preview in which all seats $10. Opening night on October 4th will be $35, and tickets will include music, drinks and munchies, for the show only, it will be $26.00. All other nights, tickets will be $26.00.

Discounts are available for seniors(65+) for $22.00. Students, artists & military.
