"New York destroyed; it's the end of the world. You might as well go home to die. I just heard it on the radio."--Indianapolis woman, October 30, 1938

Part radio play, part live theatre event, five actors recreate the most famous radio broadcast of all time, H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds."
Be a part of the studio audience for the live event inspired by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theater, that rattled the nation on October 30, 1938. The script by Howard Koch (who also won an Academy Award for the screenplay of "Casablanca") is as eerily thrilling today as it was 67 years ago. Hear the story that caused a near-panic from coast to coast and led thousands to believe that an interplanetary conflict had begun with a Martian invasion of New Jersey and New York, eventually spurred legislation banning the "news" format from radio drama for years following.
