STAGEWORKS: TAMPAWORKS 2013 WINNERS:

1. GHOSTS OF HYDE PARK Matt Cowley

2. HIT AND RUN (tied for first) Jack Gilhooley

When Jake was 19 and breaking into pro baseball with the St. Pete Cardinals, he impregnated a local girl. It's 13 years later and he's getting a tentative last shot at the big leagues with the upstart Devil Rays. Naturally he'll look up his old flame. DON'T GO THERE, JAKE!

3. NO TIES Martin Tucker

4. GEO-MUGGLED Joie Marsh

While out for a day with his family at the Manatee Viewing Center, a snowbird named Henry encounters a young stranger with a peculiar hobby.

5. GASPARILLA QUEEN Dewey Davis-Thompson

This is a peek under the full skirt of social politics in the Gasparilla Court - and other South Tampa traditions.

6. CUSTOMER SERVICE Philip Hall

George is yet again calling Verizon Customer Service. This time he reaches a real person, one he wants to get to know better. Her name is Suzanne, and she seems to want to get to know George better, too.

7. GUITAR MAN (tied for sixth) Floyd Wilson

"Can a homeless guitarist strum his way into an exclusive retirement manor?"

8. PLAY ME Janet Scaglioni

When a woman goes into a bar . . . you never know just what to expect.
